NMR analog of Bell’s inequalities violation test

چکیده
In this paper we present an analog of the Bell’s inequalities violation test for N qubits to be performed in a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) quantum computer. This can be used to simulate or predict results for different Bell’s inequalities tests, with distinct configurations and larger number of qubits. To demonstrate our scheme, we implemented a simulation of the violation of Clauser, Horne, Shimony and Holt (CHSH) inequality using a two qubit NMR system and compared the results to those of a photon experiment. The experimental results are well described by Quantum Mechanics theory and a Local Realistic Hidden Variables model which was specially developed for NMR. That is why we refer to this experiment as a simulation of the Bell’s inequality violation. Our result shows explicitly how both theories can be compatible to each other due the detection loophole. In the last part of this work we discuss the possibility of testing fundamental features of quantum mechanics using NMR with highly polarized spins, where a strong discrepancy between quantum mechanics and hidden variables models can be expected. Using Measured Values in Bell's Inequalities Entails at Least One Hypothesis in Addition to Local Realism
The recent loophole-free experiments have confirmed the violation of Bell’s inequalities in nature. Yet, in order to insert measured values in Bell’s inequalities, it is unavoidable to make a hypothesis similar to “ergodicity at the hidden variables level”. This possibility opens a promising way out from the old controversy between quantum mechanics and local realism. Here, I review the reason ...
متن کاملLocality and Bell's Inequality
WARNING This is a revised version with respect to the one submitted on Mon, 3 Jul 2000. By mistake an earlier version and not the final one was submitted. Abstract We prove that the locality condition is irrelevant to Bell in equality. We check that the real origin of the Bell’s inequality is the assumption of applicability of classical (Kolmogorovian) probability theory to quantum mechanics. W...
متن کاملAgainst a Minimalist Reading of Bell's Theorem: Lessons from Fine
Since the validity of Bell’s inequalities implies the existence of joint probabilities for non-commuting observables, there is no universal consensus as to what the violation of these inequalities signifies. While the majority view is that the violation teaches us an important lesson about the possibility of explanations, if not about metaphysical issues, there is also a minimalist position cla...
متن کاملDoes Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt Correlation or Freedman-Clauser Correlation lead to the largest violation of Bell’s Inequality?
An inequality is deduced from Einstein’s locality and a supplementary assumption. This inequality defines an experiment which can actually be performed with present technology to test local realism. Quantum mechanics violate this inequality a factor of 1.5. In contrast, quantum mechanics violates previous inequalities (for example, Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality of 1969, Freedman-Clauser...
متن کاملMaximal violation of Bell’s inequality and atomic cascade photons
A correlation inequality is derived from local realism and a supplementary assumption. This inequality is violated by a factor of 1.5 in the case of real experiments, whereas previous inequalities such as Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality of 1969 and Clauser-Horne inequality of 1974 are violated by a factor of √ 2. Thus the magnitude of violation of this inequality is approximately 20.7% la...
